Excellent recounting of the wherewithal it took to settle the great northern wilderness.
I would highly recommend this read to anyone interested in outdoor adventures.
I bought this for my parents, who tell me they're enjoying the story, but that the print is so faint they can only read it for short periods. I'm very disappointed. I'd recommend the book still, nothing wrong with the story that I'm aware of, but I can't recommend buying it from , unless or until they improve the print quality.
If you are into early pioneer stories this is an amazing one. It's hard to believe the adventures they had & survived!
Such an amazing story!!
I build boats (rowing shells, canoes, kayaks) and I bought this book to understand how and why american natives makes their boats. This book fits perfect to this aim, giving me ideas to understand how should be boat in my own country, Chile, for local natives (Mapuche).
I enjoyed the book and their adventures. I did have to laugh though at how if they missed a meal or two they would surely die of starvation.
